Hey there kids… just wanted to let you know that we will not be doing any more flyers for Velvet Lettuce but the show continues with great chillin’ beats and beans every other Monday. The schedule is as follows:

November: 3rd and 17th.

December: 1st, 15th and 29th

January 12th and 26th

Trying not to get too head of ourselves, we will post updates about date changes or other topics on Velvet Lettuce as needed.

Saturday October 4th, the Tin Town Artists of Rosewall Cresent (and the Freakin’ Coffeeshop) would like to invite you to a delightful afternoon of studio tours, demos, buisiness open house, hands-on art, a scavenger hunt with prizes and surprises.

The schedule of events is as follows:

12:00 - 12:30pm   Parade ‘marshaling’ and optional costuming in ‘The Square’ outside of the cafe. (In case of rain, this time will be shortened)

12:30 - 1:00pm     Parade will wind its way from venue to venue, planting a marker at or near each door. Businesses/owners/artists introduced to the public.

1:00 - 1:30pm       Studio Tour, open houses, demos, activities, etc.   The ‘mystery’ part of the tour involves a scavenger hunt of questions-one question to be answered/discovered at each venue. The completed ‘questionnaire’ becomes the participant’s ticket for a prize draw.

3:00 - 3:15pm     Everyone gathers at ‘The Square’.

3:15 - 3:45ish     Prize draw and surprise happenings.

3:45 - 5:00pm    Dj’s and live music at the Freakin Coffeeshop.

This was the second summer under our belts at the Freakin’ Coffeeshop here in Tin Town and we would like to thank all of you for the laughs, stories and support.

We were able to bend our Saturday schedule a little so we could enjoy some free time as well. We enjoyed a trip to Vancouver, a sunny Sunday in Tofino and the Big Time Out. It was nice to see so many of our friends and patrons outside of the cafe walls.

We are now back to our regular hours on Saturdays.

Hey Friends…sorry for the delay here but we wanted to let you know that the remaining Saturdays of August have some changes in our hours of operation.

Wow, can’t believe it is August already!!

We will be closed BC Day weekend, Saturday August 2nd, Sunday August 3rd and Monday August 4th.

Saturday August 9th: 8:00am to 12:00 noon

Saturday August 16th: 8:00am to 12:00 noon

Saturday August 23rd: 8:00am to 12:00 noon

We will also be closed Labour Day weekend, August 30th, 31st and September 1st.

So, there we have it…just a few shortened hours so we too can enjoy the summer. We hope everyone has a good weekend and we will see you at the coffeeshop.

Tickets for the 15th Annual Studio Tour, hosted by the Comox Valley Community Arts Council are on sale and available at the Freakin’ Coffeeshop.

This event is a fundraiser to further community projects facilitated by the CVCAC and will have a suggested donation of $5.
